Our Minister
The minister of the congregation is Rev Alasdair Macleod. Having sensed a call to fulltime pastoral work Alasdair left his career as a civil engineer to train at the Free Church College (www.freescotcoll.ac.uk )in Edinburgh. After three years training he was ordained and inducted to the congregation in October 2004.
Originally from the Isle of Lewis Alasdair was converted at the age of 16. After schooling he studied at the University of Paisley before working in Inverness for a number of years. Married to Catriona (also from the Isle of Lewis) they have one daughter.
When asked about his vision for ministry in Ullapool Alasdair writes
“We have food, clothing, homes, employment, holidays, cars, and so much more yet we are not satisfied. Where previous generations looked longingly for these luxuries, we posess them and are still discontent. Why? The bible makes plain that the emptiness of our lives can only be truly filled by God. That is my vision for our congregation. To reach out, sharing by our lives and words, that in Jesus Christ we have real purpose, real contentment, real hope and a real life – a life lived to the full just as Jesus promised in John Ch10”
